Acumen

Enables the quantification of visual perceptual thresholds based on the discrimination of sine wave gratings (Prusky et al, 2008).

Acumen is a system to measure spatial visual thresholds, including grating acuity, in laboratory rodents. The quantification of visual perceptual thresholds, such as acuity and contrast sensitivity, is essential for understanding the function of the visual system and for maximizing the relevance of preclinical animal models.

Acumen is a computer-based  system that presents stimuli for two-alternative forced choice visual discriminations tasks.  Trials for multiple animals are interleaved and the data sorted for monitoring and export.
